Having worked as Dennis Whitty's backup band, 'Bushwacker', for a couple of years, Skip Layton, Jef Leeson & Mark McDonell set off as Ambush in January 1993. By 1996, the trio, dubbed as 'The little band with the big sound', was practically a household name in eastern Ontario. Their passionate fan base & regular appearances on TV & radio helped propel their debut CD, 'Ambush', into one of the most successful releases in the region during the 1990s.
